At SoEasy we love to create new features and functions.

A lot of the time, the suggestions of our customers make a good procedure into a brilliant one and everyone is very enthusiastic about this process.

There is a problem though; we already have a development plan and to make changes to our product is a complex process.

  1. We have to get you onto our latest version. This can be problematic because the version is only in Beta and additions are made on a daily basis
  2. We have to keep you up-to-date
  3. Support tends to increase at your site whilst the version is stabilized
  4. Our costs increase due to time spent adding the features and the additional support. Most of the time, people do not realise these unrealised costs.

In addition to these issues, once a customer realises we are interested in good ideas, they tend to keep the ideas flowing.

This puts us in a constant state of development and interferes with our existing development plan, extending completion times, and generally creating an unworkable situation where no one progresses.

To solve these issues we have the following standard practice:

  1. Anyone can send in an ideas via email and when time permits, we will review the ideas
  2. Once reviewed, if the ideas have merit, it will be included in the next development plan which has no specific release date
  3. If the customer wants the procedure creating before the next development plan:
    1. We fully scope the project which is a chargeable service and offer an estimation of costs
    2. If agreed, a weekly budget is set for the project
    3. The budget ensures that x number of hours each week are allocated to the project
    4. The customer pays the budget each week on a specific day by automatic payment.
It is an automatic payment because we do not want to chase the account each week
    5. The minimum budget for any modification is $1,000 + GST and may be greater depending upon the scope of the project
    6. We project manage the functions that need to happen.

These policies have evolved over many years and a great deal of experience. They have been created for the benefit of all users and staff.

Due Diligence

Some customers do not realise that they are engaging in development for a variety of reasons

These four statements sum up the direction people use to sum up their belief:

1: My old program did it this way. Why does your program not do it that way?

2. I think it should happen this way. To me it seems totally logical.

3. I thought the salesperson said it would do this.

4. It used to do it this way and I want it to happen the old way.

SoEasy is sold in an 'As Is Where Is State' and irrespective of the customer's thoughts, SoEasy (like every other program) is as it is. If you want to get a procedure changed or assistance to resolve an issue, the Software Development process is adhered to for the security of all customers.
